EshChallenge: Nutty Nattlin’s Inventions
You’ve heard that Nomi’s mother, Esther Nattlin, was famous (or infamous) for coming up with some slakin’ crazy inventions. Especially after she went crazy herself. Just to show what a nutty inventor she was, here are two of her truly wack-wackiest masterpieces:
The Tree-Speak Machine
This instrument looks a lot like an accordian but it’s no musical instrument! When you pump it, this tool exhales air while a clever mechanism causes wooden sticks to rub together, making tree-like sounds that enable you to speak words from the Ancient tree language. This is your chance to sound just like an Ancient tree!
The Goblin Catcher
With their ability to melt into, and ooze out of, cliffs of craggy rock, Goblins can be nearly impossible to catch when they’re on their home turf. With this clever tool, you can actually suck a Goblin out of the rocks! Why would you want to capture a Goblin? Ask any farmer who is losing livestock to hungry Goblins!
(1) If you like to draw but you’re pretty normal: Try drawing either or both of the inventions of Esther Nattlin described above. The wackier the better!
(2) If you like to draw AND you think you’re as crazy as Esther: Okay, prove it! Try coming up with your own inventions. Sketch out your ideas and also color ’em if you want.
With either EshChallenge, if you can get your works into digital format, email them to us and we will add our favorites to those of Esther Nattlin below. Extra points if you also email us a couple of sentences explaining what your inventions do.
As always, be creative and have fun. We love intriguing stuff and we get slakin’ bored by boring stuff!
